AV Village Website PDF Print E-mail

NOTICE TO ALL AV-VILLAGE CUSTOMERS

Ambleton Computing designed and developed a website for a company called AV Village in November, 2006.

On 14th December we were approached by Brighton Trading Standards after they received a number of reports involving fraudulent activities regarding this website.

Based on the information provided to us by the Trading Standards we immediately suspended the AV Village website to prevent more false transactions.

Since the AV Village account has been suspended we have been actively providing and supporting Trading Standards and various Police departments with their investigation by disclosing any information that we have available.

We have also been advised that if anyone has had any dealings with AV Village then they should contact their credit card company and report their case to their local Police station.

We would like to reassure AV Village customers that the AV Village account has now been completely disabled and there is no way for anyone to access any confidential information collected by AV Village.
We would also like to stress that Ambleton Computing is not affiliated to AV Village and will in future employ a more stringent vetting process to determine the legitimacy of a business before establishing a client – developer relation.

Unfortunately there are many fraudulent cases similar to AV Village which can be prevented with some basic knowledge of internet security. We have therefore produced an easy to follow guide to make online shopping a safer and enjoyable experience.
